The words, “Member of the Body of Christ” are not just words thrown together to represent a fraternity or sorority of individuals brought together that separates them from the population of others. The words, “Member of the Body of Christ” represent an opportunity for spiritual growth that does not see color, culture, hues, tones, hair styles, skin
completions, tattoos, degrees, social and economic status.
The words, “Member of the Body of Christ” means that with no hesitation you love your brothers and sisters that embrace and share their love of Christ and all man kind. When searching online for this same wording several things come up that draw our attention to Christ. He loves everyone and provides salvation to those that follow him. He provides a love that is an Agape love that it embraces humanity not a color, political
ideology or even a gender.
Jesus commanded his followers to go out into the world and make disciples in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and to teach them to obey all that Jesus had taught (checkout: Matthew 28:19-20). Being a member of the body of Christ this is a primary role of
the church.
Believers have been commissioned by Jesus himself to share the Gospel message by all means
necessary and teach others about his saving grace.
When we read about the life of Jesus, we see the perfect example he set of doing everything out of love for others, including giving up His life on the cross to save the whole world. Many of us are using digital devices to read God’s word so sharing it is important even online. So as members of the Body what would Jesus think of our content that we create. We have to remember that we will be held
accountable for all our words that includes digital words.
Members of the body of Christ, each of us have been given spiritual gifts. Using these spiritual gifts is a key part of how we go about being a faithful member of the church. Christians have different skills and personalities, and have been designed by God in a purposeful way, so that we can love God, love others, and share the Gospel. Using our unique gifts not to elevate ourselves, but to
elevate, praise and share the love and Word of God.
As the body of Christ, we should embrace the diversity within, affirming and celebrating the spiritual gifts each contributes, rather than ranking spiritual gifts. We know that all are equally important according to God’s word. As a member of the body of Christ, we are called to serve, to take care of each other,
and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
What does it mean to be part of the body of Christ; to have found hope and salvation in Jesus. It is an honor to receive the gift of salvation, members of the body of Christ need to understand we cannot earn salvation ourselves, that was freely given to us when Jesus who died on the cross for the world. This term, body of Christ, helps us understand what it means to be part of the church. Jesus is the head
of the church, and we as believers make up the church.
Every believer has been given certain spiritual gifts and skills to contribute to the church and is valuable and important to furthering God’s kingdom. Yes we further His kingdom first in all things. Even in business and industry if you’re a member of the Body of Christ we must share our faith in a way that is loving, positive, expressive and building. Our gifts are from the Lord and when we discover them we must practice these gift to expert levels to be used to in evangelism and saving
souls and keeping souls saved.
Ephesians 4:14-16 as I reference Paul, he gives us a picture of how the body of Christ and each of its members works and develops. As we enter into the body of Christ we must all grow and support the growth of all its members. Holding each of us responsible and accountable for our words, deeds and actions as Christians and followers of Christ. “That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ – from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the
edifying of itself in love.”
In relation to our journey as evangelists and involved in posting on social media sites, do our postings, words, thoughts, photos, videos represent Christ or our individual actions to defying of Gods love for all man kind. We cannot say we are Christians and we follow Christ and gossip against others in the process. We cannot follow Christ and bear false digital witness against our brothers and sisters on Facebook during services. As the minister is teaching and preaching we should not be cross examining him and under cutting his teachings because we don’t agree with him and feel it necessary to misdirect everyone to our “pages” that show
defiance to the teaching.
We as digital content creators and members of the body or Christ, need to know what we are doing. Creating content is a cognitive process that is based on passion, purpose and experiences that are an application of how we feel about something or our interpretation. Stated by Minister Author Brown of Northbound Church of Christ, “the process of building must start in the mind” having a mental process that is strategic, planned and purposeful is
important and valuable.”
There must be focus and function to create quality content that is Christ centered not just self-centered and a huge quantity of memes, comments and graphics. Content cannot flood the digital inbox of people because it will be ignored and deleted as Spam and not an important digital voice. We as members of the body of Christ must echo Christ
both personally and digitally.
Many Church of Christ ministries are using a “vision board” or “story board” to assist in organizing ministerial thoughts, ideas, inspirations and how to teach the people at their levels of understanding. From milk to meat, from baby food to solid food and from lacking the understanding of a spirit centered study of Christ word not a self-centered process of
understanding.
Understanding comes from the spirit not just our understanding of Gods word. Seeing the direction of developing content and the potential empowerment to others is a wonderful motivator to envision the vision of direction and powered by the love and
passion of and for Christ.
Creating content is a wonderful way to build your abilities, talents and skills, but it must be strategic and planned, what an awesome marketing tool for Christ to show people where the mind is and where it is going and growing, how the spirit of engagement is vital to revelation and reflection as God’s word is brought into the mind, and it is the spirit as well that allow for interpretation and application in life. People claim they have read the bible from cover to cover, but when asked to interpret a scripture or a
meaning they are lost and ignorant to doing that.
Content creators in ministry will find the more content they create the more they need to apply a spiritual understand that change is inevitable as they grow in the spirit, that self-direction will lead to ignorance and influences to loosing the meaning and direction of where the Word of God will lead us, that spiritual learning goes beyond what the creator of content wants. The means there is growth and understanding spiritually and allowing the Holy Spirit to
guide us just as the Apostles do throughout the Book of Acts.
Building your followers allows for maturity and prioritization of content and the information that is desired and needed. Taking hold of the mantle of a digital influencer, that means you are sharing your faith is important because someone may ask the serious question, “do you know what you’re doing.” That means the spirit is asking do you really know what you’re doing without me? There should be no question that being a member of the Body of Christ we need the Holy
Spirit to direct and guide us.
When asked “do you know what your doing” cannot be followed by “ummm,” “well,” or “let me think about it..” it must already be decisive and concrete. The mental mind-set can be transformative in the application and purpose of digital content because of the
potential global influences.
Paying attention to details in content and to the potential footprint the developing content can make on social media reinforces strategically and digitally where the creator is moving towards and assisting them in growth. Showing “proof of evidence” that the creation of content is not off the cuff or fly by night. It is not our opinion, it is not our emotional status, but brought
by the Holy Spirit.
Content creators must know that every time they post what is the Why behind the writing. The rationality as a foundation for the reasons. Each posting moves that person towards the future of increased
content creation and potential influences.
Minister Author Brown of Northbound Church of Christ has stated many times that, “moving towards the future requires making proper preparation.” This can be applied to content creation, each posting takes time to process mentally and moves the author to increased engagement and
influence.
The digital waves of information are inundated with content that appears to have no direction, no purpose, no passion and certainly no foundation. Many people are posting content without thinking about the spiritual implications. Saving souls and keeping souls saved it real. Content creators need to learn early their Why, What, When, Who, Where Why are they choosing that particular subject. What are their reasons for creating their content. When do they anticipate posting and on the platform. Who is the content directed towards.
Where will this place them as an influencer.
Social media, a growing platform of content that can elevate a Brand, build influencers, promote collaboration or just create increased digital nonsense and noise. We are the voices for the Church of Christ, we carry in each of use the Holy Spirit let us join together in a mission of
evangelism, hope, faith and love.
